SHORT TERM AT BASILICATA LINK - SUPPORTING MATERA 2019

Short term volunteers will spend 2 months in Basilicata Link, the coordinating organization of the project "Human Capital 2019" connected with the European Capital of Culture. We plan 4 different flows: 1.11 March - 08 May, 2. May-June, 3. July-August, 4.September-October 2019. In Matera there are already long term volunteers "supporting the process" and the short term volunteers will "support the events". This means that, under the coordination of Basilicata Link, short term volunteers will help different cultural organization in running the cultural program of Matera 2019. Main tasks: helping in the practical organization of the events, welcoming guests and artists, information and social media management, documentation. Basilicata Link will run as well some activities beside the official program and will cooperate "Capital for one day" program in smaller cities around Matera and in the region Basilicata.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

Matera is a medium-sized city that has lived until the 1950s a condition of marginalization as well as the rest of the region to which it belongs. After a long process of enhancement that led to the recognition of the Sassi (the ancient part of the city) as heritage of humanity (UNESCO), in recent years Matera has been characterized by its liveliness cultural heritage and the ever-increasing ability to attract cultural and quality tourism. Volunteers will live in a shared flat in the city and will get daily allowance and pocket money. Local transport will be covered by the organization.

Formazione durante l'attività

Short-term volunteers will be followed during all the activities by a tutor who will favor their job placement and integration within the working group, thus favoring one full and active participation in all the activities of the Foundation. The tutor will organize meetings programming periodicals in which the other members of the Foundation will participate, and will be made available to contribute to the resolution of any voluntary need. In order to facilitate the integration of the volunteer not only in the organization, but also in the community local, a mentor will be identified.

Profilo del partecipante

Six volunteers per flow. We need people with less opportunities but dynamic and flexible. It is not necessary to know Italian but a basic English is preferable. Unfortunately Matera is not easy for people with physical disability. We search for people interested in culture - music, theatre, ect. and willing to give their contribution to the European Capital of Culture.
