Looking for a volunteer for our secondary school in Bourges (France)

Our school is looking for a volunteer for a period of 9 months, starting October 2022, who wants to participate in the activities at our school. The volunteer’s job will be to participate in language classes, sustainable development subjects and actions. - Participation in school class activities about sustainable development and ecology in our school - Pedagogical and language support to children in language classes – English and French - use of the etwinning plateform and find a partner school of the volunteer’s country to work with pupils - Taking pictures and making films for distribution on the school’s webpage - Participate in actions like nature cleaning, school fauna and flora, school medieval gardens preparation and other ideas welcome - Project planning and implementation of own initiatives about sustainability and solidarity projects in cooperation with other volunteers - Participation to midday and lunch activities - Smaller projects of personal interest

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

The volunteer will be accommodated in the school in a furnished apartment together with another volunteer, sharing the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and washing facilities. A bus stop is right in front of the school, easy access to the city center. Possibility to eat at the school canteen or cook for himself/herself. Small office with computer at the disposal of the volunteer

Formação durante a atividade

Volunteers participate in an on-arrival and a mid-term training organized by the France National Agency. In addition, volunteers participle in 2 regional trainings with other volunteers from different hosting organizations : 3 days on arrival, 1 day mid-term and 2 days before departure. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn French by using the online platfeform. To candidate, send your application (CV + letter) by e-mail. Interviews for selected candidates will be organized beginning of september. Please note that the school is closed between 13th of July and 22nd of august.

Perfil do participante

We accept applications from young people of 18 - 30 years (UE only). We expect that you have finished your school education. Experience with working with children is advantageous though not required. Interest and/or experience in ecology/ environment protection is an advantage. The volunteer’s personal skills & interests will be considered and an individual time schedule will be made. We expect that the volunteer will actively participate in and be committed to the assignments and activities they are assigned to and that they will cooperate with all staff and also are willing to learn French.
