Supporting children with special needs

La casa de Aaron is an association, situated in the town of Illescas, that offers different activities for children with special needs (from 7 until 25) . Some of our youngsters have motor difficulties and some of them mental ones. In our center we organize physiotherapy, group events, we help them with their homework and study. The center is open from Monday until Friday, from 15:00 until 21:00. As we are a small organization, we are looking for a volunteer that could help us to: *Accompany the children between activities *Help us with the organization in the center *Help our tutors in the Study groups *Teach our children a little bit of English *Help us with the organization of different events and activities - solidarity markets, events related to the local festivities, etc You can take a look at the activities we've done so far on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lacasadeaaron/

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

To make this project possible we are collaborating with a partner association: Proyecto Kieu. The chosen volunteer will be accommodated in the house of volunteers of Proyecto Kieu, located near the office of Proyecto Kieu in Numancia de la Sagra. Depending on the circumstances volunteers may also have to share their bedrooms with another volunteer. Local transport needed to realize the volunteers' activities will be reimbursed by Proyecto Kieu.Volunteers will receive 300EUR per month for the pocket and food money.

Formazione durante l'attività

The volunteer will participate in an on-arrival training organized by the Spanish National Agency. They will also have trainings during the course of the project to develop different skills like: organization and planning, leadership, teamwork, communication, creativity and organization of activities. Those trainings are done in a group together with the rest of the ESC volunteers of Proyecto Kieu. In the end of the project volunteers receive the Youthpass certificate and in some cases a recommendation letter from the association.

Profilo del partecipante

We are looking for a person between 18 and 30 years old, citizen of any European Union country. No previous experience is needed, BUT motivation to work with children with special needs is necessary in order to participate. It is a plus if you speak some Spanish. As you will be leaving on your own and sharing a room with other volunteers, you should have a certain level of autonomy.
