In cooperation with the community-based organisation Kongo Community Development Association [KoCDA], Mondo works in West Africa, Ghana, precisely in Kongo of the Upper East region. KoCDA has pioneered a unique humanitarian-based approach partnering with NGO Mondo that focuses on quality education, life skills, health, gender equality, child protection and building peaceful communities. With programming in other communities in Nabdam besides Kongo, KoCDA transforms the lives of children, particularly girls who are dropping out of school and facing difficulties with reproductive health. KoCDA advocates with parents, schools, local communities, and the Nabdam District Assembly to advance the fundamental rights of all children particularly with respect to a lot of girls being school dropouts, facing difficulties with reproductive health.Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The volunteer will be hosted at the guest house, with titled lockable rooms, toilet, shower, and ceiling fans. There is running water and electricity and a kitchen with a refrigerator. The guest house is 5 minutes’ walk from the village centre and the ICT centre of KoCDA 7 minutes away. Mobile phone and internet service is reliable. Regular local buses travel to the region's capital, Bolgatanga (30-min drive). There is a market square at Kongo and small kiosks also open daily. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 390 euros to cover basic needs and local transport.Formazione durante l'attività
Opportunity to be actively engaged in direct community work with schools, students, teachers, Nabdam Education directorate, particularly the Gender Desk. Support the process of how gender contributes to changing the lives of individuals in Northern Ghana and the possibility to contribute to that process. Possibility to collaborate with KoCDA and other relevant actors in the gender space in mutual learning and exchanging of good practices. Getting practical experience of development cooperation by supporting Mondo and KoCDA’s joint gender support programme for girls.Profilo del partecipante
We are looking for a motivated volunteer with gender and development studies, as well as experience in programme management (M&E) and working knowledge about integrating gender equality into development programming. Change facilitation, negotiation and networking skills are highly valued, including innovation, initiating action, capacity building and excellent editorial skills.Data dell'attività
