Long-term Volunteering in Bourgas, Bulgaria

Have you always dreamed of going to Bulgaria and living in the seacoast? Ever wondered what is it like to live abroad and discover a new culture? Bulgaria and the cultural sea capital of the country – Bourgas, would be the perfect place to start. You will meet young people from different cultures and countries during your volunteering year in Bulgaria. You will work with the team of Caritas Sofia and our volunteers and serve the community of the city of Bourgas and the municipality of Malko Turnovo. In the city of Bourgas, you will work with refugees and will help our team in different areas of their integration in Bulgaria: Social work and mediation, Child development and education, Interaction with the host society, and civic participation; In the Community Support Center "Tsvetnitsa" in Malko Turnovo, we work with at-risk children and their parents and relatives living in the Malko Tarnovo Municipality territory.

Konaklama, yemek ve yol ayarlamaları

Caritas Sofia will provide you accomadation in single room in dormatory or apartament. All the costs for that would be paid - electricity, internet, water, etc. The pocket money and money for food are 350 euros per month. In addition to that, you'll have a mobile sim card with a Bulgarian number and a card for city transport.

Training during the activity

During your year in Bourgas, you'll have practical training in working with one of the largest NGOs in the country and its team. In addition to your daily tasks, you will have the opportunity to learn the Bulgarian language in our center in Bourgas, where professional teachers are helping foreigners to learn Bulgarian.

Aged 18-30 • A citizen of one of the program countries • Outgoing, friendly, keen to meet new people, socialize & experience a different culture • Organised and able to meet deadlines • Able to demonstrate a high standard of communication and people engagement skills • Keen to learn about environmental education and how to engage people with nature • Willing to learn with an adaptable approach in line with the needs of a charitable organisation's structure, including working flexible and occasional long hours.
