The EVS project will Coordinated by OTI CHEF UK and Hosted at our Youth Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus. The idea of the project is to have young people involved with local youth, identifying common problems and creating events and interactive workshops to address these issues. The project will be fun and packed with exciting activities for the volunteers working in different areas of the Youth Centre and with local youth, working with professional youth workers and trainers and developing a series of fun activities. Areas of work at the Youth Centre: • OTI Radio – hosting shows on our very own Online Radio Station • OTI Café – working at our Youth Centre café, learning how to cook and prepare meals and meeting with the local youth visiting the youth centre. • OTI House – Creating events and activities for local youth at the youth centre and in other areas in Cyprus • Cycling and Hiking Club – Participating in organised cycling events and hiking trips by local friends.
Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
Food and accommodation are fully covered by the project. Monthly pocket money is given to each volunteer on a monthly basis. The organisation rents bicycles for all the volunteers. The distance from your accommodation to our Youth Centre is very close. - Apartment near the Youth Center with your fellow EVS colleagues - Pocket Money and Food Allowance - Bicycle or Public Transportation allowance option All practical arrangement details will be discussed during the interviews also.
Wat leer je?
You will work with experienced youth workers and staff in developing non formal activities and events for local youth. You will also work with local youth to identify their problems and create events based on these needs. You will be trained in all fields of work at the Youth Centre. You will also receive Greek language lessons. - OTI Radio. Technical training on the equipment on the Radio Station. Anchor and Radio Production training. - Design Basics Course. Digital Banners and Social Media content training. - CV Building and Budget workshops - Greek Language Course
Wie zoeken we?
Volunteers need to be between the ages of 18 and 30, willing to work in teams and have a positive attitude and sense of initiative. You need to have at least a basic level of English. Age: 18 – 30 Participants with fewer opportunities should have priority. Youth should be openminded and have a sense of initiative and learning. Respectful to diversity. Participants should have Intermediate level of English Communication. Volunteers will undergo a few interviews with the EVS Coordinator prior to final selection.
