Do you want to make a (modest) contribution to a more regenerative world by inspiring people, rather than telling them what to do? Do you, meanwhile, want to taste simpler living close to nature, together with like-minded people? Then come to work and live with us for three weeks. With our project, we hope to broaden the scope of alternatives, reduce fear and create hope and courage to consider the radical changes that need to be made in the world, rather than to criticize the current system and people trapped in it. Tasks: process food, small eco construction work, forest and fencing work, regenerative gardening. The first and last week we stay at Boskanter. In the morning we work. In the afternoon we learn about the life on the farm and discuss the implications with the group. We also learn some crafts. The evening is for the group. The second week we hike to some inspiring places. During the weekends, we try to find an activity for the whole group. We finish with a pizza party.

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

You will share several rooms with mattresses and beds. There is no heating in the sleeping rooms, but there are hot water bottles and enough blankets. For the hike you can choose tents or ‘camping’ indoors. Bring a warm sleeping bag and isolating travel mattress. We use compost toilets that are outside. ‘Shower’ is replaced by a bucket with water, heated on the stove and used in the (heated) bathroom or the outside (heated) bath house. We cook together. The food will be as much as possible local, organic, seasonal, vegetarian and home-processed. There are some bikes available.

We will teach you the skills needed for the jobs we will do. You can get an introduction to some crafts such as making sourdough bread and pizza’s, wooden spoons, natural ointments or a leather poach. You can try to spin wool or make a willow basket. Dirk will give you an introduction in the function of the rocket stove and Sylvie will introduce you to the world of bio-ecological building.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

We look for volunteers that search a place where they can try out simple(r) living close to nature, with like-minded people, based on their worries about the destruction of the ecosystem. Young people that want to explore how to act or how to live. Don’t expect a fully operating self-sufficient farm, though. We are small, we’re must function this world and sharing this life with others, limits our efficiency. You help with what we are currently doing. Some work will be outdoors, also when the weather is hard. We accept no drugs or smoking. Alcohol is limited to special occasions.
