Youth work at Noël Paindavoine

Activity description

Noël Paindavoine is an organization located in Reims that provides accommodation to young people facing economic and social difficulties. Reims is a city of 200,000 inhabitants located 150 km eastern of Paris. The organization proposes also different services like computer room, sport activities, outings etc… The volunteer will help the organization in the educational team. It is expected that he can take part and propose activities from his interests and origin country in order to raise European awareness of the youngsters in the Home. The volunteer will take part in the leisure times in the evenings and will take part in workshops (cooking workshops, hiking, woodcraft workshop…). He can also propose workshops following his skills and interests of the youngsters living in the organization. Usually, by the end of the ESC, the volunteer organize a trip to discover his own country or another place. To do so, he will propose activities to promote his country.

The volunteer will live in his own flat with kitchen and bathroom. The flat belongs to the organsiation but the volunteer will work with young people living in other houses. The volunteer will receive money for food and local transport.

Participant profile

The volunteer should be outgoing and dynamic. He/She should have good relations sense and able to take initiatives. He should be interested to lead sport or cultural activities. He should have good communication skills in English and knowledge of French would be interesting to make his integration easier. The volunteer has to live in a country taking part in ESC.
