Want to work in a new and rapidly growing school in Galway on the west coast of Ireland? In Galway Steiner National School, our teachers are Irish Trained Teachers using Steiner principles to deliver the National Curriculum. We opened in September 2015 with a Junior Infant class and grow by one class each year. Children learn through play and activities like gardening, house work, cooking and crafting, which are modelled rather than through instruction by the teachers and assistants. An opportunity to learn more about Steiner methodologies and Irish Culture. Ideal for trained teacher or candidates with experience of working with young children. Period of Internship: August 26th 2021 to June 30th 2022.

As part of EVS you will receive an allowance for food travel an accommodation. Adequate allowances but limited opportunity to save money.

Formação durante a atividade

As part of a network of Steiner National schools in Ireland there are many training opportunities and all Steiner Trainings offered to staff members are offered to EVS volunteers.

Perfil do participante

We are looking for artists, teachers, trainee teachers or individuals with a keen interest in education.Good communication skills with an ability to encourage and support children. Be able to work as part of a team along with staff and teachers. To be initiative, be flexible and be enthusiastic about all parts of our programme. All our work is based on having a positive relationship with children, so the ability to build up a good rapport with them is very important. Maturity is required as young people will look to the volunteer as a role model. Minimum English Language Level: B1
