Descrição da organização

The Abraham Project Association works for the comprehensive support of immigrants, minors and people at risk and/or exclusion. Since 1997, the Abraham Project Association has been active in the Region of Murcia with one main objective: social and environmental action.

Since its beginnings, it has been helping all those people who, due to their condition as immigrants, alcoholics, transients, unemployed, etc., suffer serious problems of exclusion and lack the economic, personal and social resources to face their difficulties.

Within the framework of this main objective, the aims and objectives of the association are:

1. To disseminate the activities of the association, as well as the philosophy that sustains it, aimed at the general population and in any of its fields: social, cultural, labour, educational, etc.
2. To give talks and carry out specific actions against racism, xenophobia and any manifestation that violates human rights, in the line of full intercultural, labour and social integration.
3. To promote the encounter between peoples through the different cultural manifestations, seeking in the exchange the enrichment of peaceful intercultural coexistence, as well as the recovery and promotion of popular traditions, especially those of the Region of Murcia and the own of each of the nationalities of the users of the association.
4. To channel the collection of solid urban waste: clothes, footwear, toys, paper, scrap metal, furniture, electrical appliances and all kinds of material that can be reused, recycled and/or recovered, with the aim of self-financing, with subsequent sale in flea markets, flea markets or Third World countries.
5. To fight against unemployment, social marginalisation, xenophobia, racism and any other circumstance that undermines the dignity of the person and triggers processes of marginalisation.
6. To consolidate the functioning of an intercultural and multi-ethnic collective in such a way that the "group" constitutes an integration resource - on the basis of the programmes and projects of the association - for each of its members.
7. To welcome transients and immigrants, favouring their gradual reintegration and/or social insertion through an integrating activity.
