Descrizione dell'organizzazione

Compass Organisation established in 2005 and it has 600 members and its main activity takes place in Somogy county. Our mission is to help in the integration of the Hungarian youngsters into the European Union's system, helping them to take an active part in their community's life, widening their acting possibilities to become a responsible citizen in the European Union. We also would like to help young peoples career orientation and employability. Participation in our activities can help them to improve their soft and hard skills so they will have better chances to integrate into the job market or we can help to overcome the skills shortages.
Compass promotes and carries out following activities:
- providing learning mobility and European active citizenship activities at a local, regional, national and international level;
- short, medium and long-term volunteering and learning projects;
- cultural exchanges; social, sport, recreational activities; camps, workshops
- seminar and pieces of training aimed at organisations, social workers and citizens.
- hosting place for the community service programme for the young people
- organising several charity initiatives with the local volunteers
- implementation of local events
Our working methods are based on active participation and involvement, non-formal and informal education and cross-sectoral multidisciplinary approach. We cooperate with public institutions especially at local and regional level; kindergartens, schools, university, vocational and other educational institutions; public and private social inclusion organizations and other NGOs.
We have an official agreement with the local and regional NGOs, the municipality of Kaposvár, unemployment office, cultural and sports institutions.According to our agreement with the local council, we are a partner in different projects funded by EU to make Kaposvar make a better place for young people. We help to organize big events (European Youth Week, International Youth Football Festival, Rippl-Rónai Festival, Kaposvar's Hemisphere Seminars, Vivicitta Running Competition, Children's day, Honey Festival, Narcis Festival, City festivals, our international and local volunteers contribute to the success of these events which make our city more liveable.
We have 2 target groups:
children,young people and their families and teachers:
the young people in our region are disadvantaged. They have less chance to meet with international people because in our county there are only a few foreigners. One hand most of the families cant afford to send their children to international educational programmes. Other hands they don't know
about the opportunities provided by EU and their families cant afford private tutors or competence developing activities. We bring an international dimension to Kaposvars life.
With our outreach work we give information and details and conditions about our international projects, key action programs for different age groups (elementary school, high school, university students, parents, unemployed).Our aim is to advertise the opportunities given by international projects also to the underprivileged children, because these programs require not only the participation but cooperation of the young people, thus developing their competencies and strengthening their social relations. We do outreach work 5 times a week, for roughly 4000 young people on a monthly average, in Somogy county. In 2013 we had the opportunity to send and delegate young people and specialists in groups of 4-6 to international projects abroad. We organize competence developing activities for ages 3-30, that are based on non- formal pedagogy methods. The activities are lead by the volunteers and youth workers here at our organization, under the supervision of educators. We work with children on competency developing starting from age 3 in kindergartens.With the older children, we work also outside school time. The future plan is to delegate more people to E+ programs, increase the number of partners for knowledge transfer and to increase the number of sent volunteers. We would like to spread the philosophy of the volunteering in Somogy county, local and international volunteers can contribute to make Somogy county more likeable and liveable
