Beschreibung der Einrichtung

Our organization is Hamster Mieden, an educational and organic farm based in Drogeham. The farm is managed by Thom and Tsjikke Krol since it started in early 2000. The farm is open to occasional volunteers, school groups, and visitors whether for weekend stays or daily tours. The aim of the educational farm is bridge the gap between children and nature and provide more contact and exposure in natural environments. In 2010, this organization has also expanded to work with young people with behavior problems/disorders. This is assisted by further family members and employees on site.
The target group includes anyone interested in farm work, farm life, the environment, farm animals, farm education, and children. Ideally, the people will share a passion for sustainable farming and sharing knowledge on nature with young people.
The main intention of this education farm is to enhance and create spaces for social contact between young people and nature. There are tours, programs, and activities to enhance this contact and play while on the farm. Regular activities may include helping with common care for the farm and animals (partly as a companion), keeping track of vegetable garden (partly as a supervisor), and accompanying school groups within the activities listen before.

Diese Einrichtung ist zur Aufnahme von Freiwilligen bereit, deren persönliche Situation die Beteiligung an Projekten erschwert. Auswahl aus folgenden Kategorien für verschiedene Arten von Projekten:
