The House of Children and Youth is a school facility. The goal of our organization is to meaningfully fill the free time of children, youth, adults and seniors. Our vision is to pass on to participants not only new skills in a certain activity, but also
new competencies in life - for example, learning to organize their time, teamwork and more. By visiting us with different groups of people, circle leaders and internal staff are also constantly learning new skills. House of children and youth in
Usti nad Labem is the biggest leisuere time center for children and youth in Usti nad Labem region (the Czech Republic). The House is opened for children from the age 6 months, youth and adults (all ages, social and national groups). More than 4000 children, youth and adults come regularly into the house per week. The house of children and youth in Usti nad Labem has about 15 internal pedagogues and more than 100 external employees and national volunteers. The organization offers more than 300 leisure time courses for children, youth and adults, eg: computer, visual, ceramics, media and other creative courses and also various workshops, languages lessons, sports (yoga, aerobics, aikido, taekwondo, majorettes, dance - hip hop, show dance, disco dance, belly dance), ecological education, clubs for the smallest children, chess club, musical classes, photo club, Youth and children parliament etc. The institution organizes camp activities during school holidays (dance camp, language learning, sport, art techniques workshops). Some of the most significant activities are celebrations of international Day of Earth, Children day, Halloween, Advent and Christmastime fest, dance and aerobic shows. he House of children and youth is accredited to organize some of local and regional competitions (Olympics - the knowledge school, competitions in Czech language, maths, physics, biology, geography, English and Germna Language etc.). The institution made the big czech-german projects in activities for children, youth and teachers too. Since 2006 the House is the hosting organization of European Voluntary Service (now European Solidarity Corps). We leave the length of stay to the volunteer, according to his possibilities. Our leisure activities are throughout the year - during the school year (from September to June) there are regular leisure activities (when the group has 1 meeting per week, it has cca 36 of them in school year), occasional events and camps (during the school holidays). In the summer (July - August) there is no regular hobby, but there are a lot of summer camps - suburban camps and residential camps. Our facility is large and consists of several other buildings not only in Ústí nad Labem. The main building is right in the city center, is wheelchair accessible, has several large and small gyms, two animal corners, a theater hall, a computer room, a pottery workshop, a kitchen, playrooms for small children and many other classrooms. Outside we have attractions for the little ones, flower beds with herbs and a fireplace.
