Kokkotyö-foundation is an organisation specialised in activating persons with challenges in finding employment. It supports and trains individuals in their working skills and in coping in their everyday life. The aim is to encourage them forward into working life or studies and give them learning opportunities and work experience. The target group is adults. Kokkotyö-foundation has workshops in 6 different municipalities with employed personnel working together with the trainees. The workshops offer products and services to their clients (individuals, associations and companies) and the workshops serve as a tool in training the working skills. Also all the trainees have an individual coach helping them with different issues in their personal life.
The workshops in Kokkola are: woodcraft, car service, recycling centre including a shop & transport, communication & project workshop, maintenance and services, ITC, café, metalcraft and a workshop for young adults. The workshops in Pietarsaari and in Kaustinen are recycling centres & shops with multiple tasks. The workshop in Toholampi is a shop of local food & crafts. The workshop in Veteli is specialised in recycling and repairing + wookdcraft, in Perho there is a craft workshop and a school canteen run by Kokkotyö foundation.
