Turkey Europe Foundation was founded on 13 December 2000 and became a legal entity on 17 January 2001. Foundation is formed with the idea of contributing to and participating in the objective and progress of Turkey towards reaching the contemporary level of civilization. Turkey Europe Foundation considers that the standard of living and democratic social structure of the countries of the European Union is an objective to be reached and developed by Turkey.
The objectives of Turkey Europe Foundation as a non-governmental organization and within the frame of the European integration and generating the conscious of associate Europe are, to contribute to efforts that would be made in the process of candidacy and prospective full membership of the European Union, and to carry out social, cultural, scientific, educational and artistic activities in areas such law, economy, science, research, gender, culture and to support projects and take initiative to establish organizations and institutions to this respect.

The regular activities of Turkey Europe Foundation are, to inform the public about the relations with European Union, to increase the cooperation with the local non-governmental organizations in this frame, to establish and develop relations with foreign institutions, to develop European Union, Anna Lindh, and national agency targeted projects and to be a partner in existent projects.

The target groups of Turkey Europe Foundation are the general public, youth and organizations working in the related fields.
