Viimsi Commune’s department of youth work and education is applying for the EVS accreditation. The department of youth work and education is a structural unit that is responsible for coordinating and organising youth work and education within the commune, creating and following development plans in the field of youth work and education, planning the budget, creating opportunities for youth to spend free time and supporting their initiatives, also coordinating the work of educational and youth work institutions, developing international cooperation. The department has cooperation with all kindergartens in the commune (municipal kindergarten in 8 houses and 7 private), schools (5 public schools, a music school and an art school), NGO-s (incl. Viimsi Culture Center), youth centers and youth council. The department organises different trainings and functions in cooperation with all institutions mentioned above. Target group is students between 7 and 26 years of age, taechers, youth workers and indirectly all the people living in the commune. The department is also in leadership of youth work and education related conference tables and meetings, where activities and functions are planned together.
