The Youth Community Heidehaus (Jugendsiedlung Heidehaus) is a place where around 70 disadvantaged young people become educated and trained. Heidehaus is a small community close to the little town Augustdorf (Augustdorf has around 10 000 inhabitants). In eight groups social worker and trainers care about the youngsters within the age from 13 to 21. They support the children and youth in daily life activities (preparing and having meals, keep the house clean, washing clothes, doing homework, following up leisure activities). The intensity of the care depends on the individual needs of the young people. Some of them need nearly a one to one caring situation others less. Up to 30 of the young people have the opportunity to attend a job training. The younger ones still follow school, there is a little school within the community. The Youth Community Heidehaus als offers different job trainings (painter, bricklayer, gardener, cook, carpenter, housekeeper, office clerk) to the young people living at Heidehaus. The idea is to support the young people to develop the abilty to live independant and to become an active part of the society, being also a competently part of the society.
