Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

The Centro Comunitário Paroquial de Nossa Senhora das Dores (CCPNSD) is a private solidarity social institution that was funded in 1985 governed by canon and civil law.

Its mission, based on the Social Doctrine of the Church, is to contribute to integral human development, to promote the strengthening of the sense of community, to support and help to resolve situations of need among the inhabitants of the parish. To this end, the CCPNSD promotes a united effort between all the actors in a way and contributes to the improvement of the population's living conditions.

It is an institution directed towards the community, which gives its distribution no support to the elderly population, children, youth and families, intervening and always trying to provide answers to each situation / problem, in order to contribute to the bio-psycho-well-being population.

Its area of ​​influence covers the parish of Caxias, corresponding to an area of ​​3.41 km and a population of 8694 inhabitants, which is characterized by a great disparity in socio-economic level, a situation evident in the reality of the institution's users. For instance, Casa de S. Bento is located in a social neighborhood with an african descendents comunity.

It has different equipments:
*Daily center for elderly - 60 clients
*Home care support - 28 clients
*Casa de S. Bento - 40 children and youngsters betwwen 6 and 20 years old
*Support for families in needs - 75 families (257 people)
*Kindergarden - 33 children
*Social canteen - 27 clients

At the daily center we also develop some activities for local community:
*Pilates
*Physioterapy
*Sports for elderly
*Tricot Club

During all the year we also organize some events & fundraising activities,
