Benevolent Union for Polish Cooperation ''Polonia" NGO was founded in 1996 in Armenia. Its branch Polonia Giumri was founded in 2006 in Gyumri. Our organisation is a member of the Coordinating Council of the Office of the Prime Minister Administration of Republic of Armenia on the issues of National Minorities.
Started as a small NGO working only to connect people of Polish origin, Polonia now provides unique space for intercultural dialogue for all national minorities in Armenia. It applies and organizes events with international partners and helps talented young people realize their ideas. Polonia works closely with both governments of Armenia and Poland, The Catholic Church and the active youth sector in Yerevan and Gyumri. Renovating Gyumri branch in 2017 it opened a new page in its history. Polonia organizes every-week language classes with certified tutors from Poland. It organizes summer-camps and non-formal learning activities involving young people from Gyumri and Yerevan in Armenia and Poland. The Musical Ensemble “Gviazdechka” gives talented young people space for first steps for more than 15 years now. Cultural magazine “Póki my żyjemy” Is published every month raising issues on national minorities of Armenia and keeping in track of events and activities organized by them. Being accredited with Quality Label Polonia wants to host volunteers to bust the NGO to a new level of civic and cultural activism. We are open for partnership with any organisation working on national minorities and cultural issues.
