Opis organizacji

BalkanKids Foundation aims to empower young people with fewer opportunities to participate actively in the social life of the community and in European and global partnership projects, involving them in non-formal education activities in an international context. Our volunteers work in two foster homes - CNST- for children without parents, three daily centres for people with mental and physical disabilities, art therapy centre for blind people and high schools of languages. They provide activities for language and environment studies, art and sports and European integration through social involvement. The foundation has a large European network of long-term partners as well as a broad and reliable network of local social care centres. We are closely associated with an active community group of more than 100 high school students called The Dolphins who meet regularly once a week in our office and engage in a number of awareness raising, charity and voluntary activities. The core team of the Foundation are teachers and it has actively participated in numerous projects since its very beginning in 2004. The experience with EVS, Youth in action and Erasmus is further extended in EU-China Partnership projects as well as in a number of local projects.
