Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

In 1999 the Office of Volunteering and Social Commitment of the Pablo de Olavide University was created. It is a meeting point between associations and the university community, for the promotion and dissemination of intervention programs, solidarity activities and any initiative related to voluntary action. Its objective is to sensitize and raise awareness among the university community regarding Volunteering and Social Participation. The actions are mainly framed around awareness and training, intervention and research.
Activities:
University Volunteer Program of the UPO, Building Solidarity Project, Project Building Our Culture and Our Leisure, European Solidarity Corps, Shared Hosting Program "Universitari@s Solidari@s", Andalusian Observatory of University Volunteering.
The responsibility of the University is not only to accumulate and disseminate knowledge to society; this must go hand in hand with their responsibility and with the consequent obligation to generate critical thinking in the face of inequalities. University volunteering is presented as a unique opportunity to disseminate and inculcate values, to transcend academics, and to involve students personally and emotionally with the social reality that surrounds them. It is not only about offering a space from which to be interested in third parties, but from where to learn to have a special interest in transforming reality or the environment.
