Centar "Fenix" is a non-govermental association that actively commited to supporting and improving the social and health status of elderly and sick people and helping socially disadvantaged families.We also work with children aged 2-7.We have various activities, we draw, paint, play,organize trips etc. There are other activities such as organic fruit and vegetable growing, fruit processing, laundry, food delivery, public kitchen etc.Our volunteers also take part in all these activities.
In order to use the available resources and develop our own household, we sow agricultural land. We grow different types of vegetables, and different fruits such as: apple, pear, plum, cherry, quince, peach.
There are two facilities in our Center, one of which is a nursing home, and volunteers do not have access to it, especially now during the pandemic. This project is not included in their action plan. The other building is the Fenix ​​Center building, and we have the following: public kitchen, playroom / kindergarten, social workers' offices, directors and administrative staff. We also have a restaurant that people use to eat a freshly prepared meal or to socialize with a social worker. In addition, we have an outdoor playroom for children, with a large lawn, greenery, swings for children, seesaws, and sand for the youngest. Then we have land for growing organic fruits and vegetables, which we use in our kitchen but also for processing juices and jams for sale. We direct all proceeds from the sale to the purchase of groceries for the public kitchen. What is useful to our local community is the public kitchen and social service, because we contribute, and we try to at least provide lunch and basic food for our fellow citizens who are not able to afford themselves. In Fenix ​​we have about 15 employees, of which are: cooks, social workers, kindergarten teachers, administration workers and a food driver. The working day is divided into shifts for cooks who always prepare fresh meals, and other staff work until 16:00. The activities we carry out are divided, so that each activity takes place at a certain time, for example food distribution takes place from 11 am to 2 pm, socializing with users from 12 noon to 1 pm (Tuesday), playroom and laundry work from 6:30 am to 4 pm, etc.
