Five key concepts: INITIATE - MOVE - ENCOURAGE - DEVELOP - ACCEPT this is what Omse e.V. and its educational work stand for. We are inspired by Confucius: "Tell me and I will forget. Show me and I will remember. Let me do it and I will understand." We live the pedagogical principles of cross-generational holistic learning, democracy and personal responsibility with the aim of promoting a culture of living and a sense of community. General and individual, professional and social offers are also implemented by the members of the organisation, freelancers, educators and teachers as well as parents. The Omse e.V. is a place for stimulation, for trying things out and for finding motivations to learn. It creates opportunities for formal and informal education and develops tasks and projects for learning in the world, on-site and for the neighbourhood (e.g. local social facilities, projects for recreational activities, help in life, ecology and the Gorbitz community garden).
Omse has been an independent sponsor of educational and cultural institutions in the west of Dresden since the 1990s, as well as being an organizer and initiator of projects in areas of education, culture, coping with everyday life, leisure activities, ecology, energy and (sub) urban development. The origin of the work of the organisation lies in the occupation of old trades and the aim of running a socio-cultural and ecologically oriented meeting place and educational centre for people of all ages. In the last few years, it has become more and more important for Omse e.V. to tread the path to a fairer and more sustainable world through informal and formal education. Over the years, Omse e.V. has developed its international work with the support of European educational programs. For example in the Grundtvig program with advanced training from 2004 - 2013 for ceramic instructors in the training program for educational staff, with 4 workshops in the Learner program for people from many different countries in Europe and as a host organisation for the EVS. In the Erasmus + program, pupils took part in 3 youth exchanges in Morocco. The aim is to bring all people of all ages who are connected to Omse e.V. into contact with people of different origins and in other countries in order to further develop mutual understanding, cooperation and democracy among people.
Your work in one of the 5 daycare centres: All 5 day-care centres work together according to a concept developed by everyone in the Omse e.V. Similar to the school, there are cross-age groups. Democracy and participation also play an important role among 3-7-year-olds. Independence and personal responsibility are the educational goals in the daycare centres of Omse e.V. Due to the omse-wide pedagogical concept and the common overall organization, the areas of responsibility of the volunteers in the various institutions do not differ significantly.

Fünf Leitbegriffe ANSTIFTEN - BEWEGEN - ERMUTIGEN – ENTFALTEN - ANNEHMEN sind Basis des Handelns des Omse e.V. und seiner Bildungsarbeit. Letztere orientiert sich an Konfuzius: "Erzähle mir und ich vergesse. Zeige mir und ich erinnere. Lasse es mich tun und ich verstehe." Als pädagogische Grundsätze werden Generationen übergreifendes ganzheitliches Lernen, Demokratie und Eigenverantwortung mit dem Ziel, Lebenskultur und Gemeinsinn zu fördern, gelebt. Allgemeine und individuelle, fachliche und soziale Angebote werden darüber hinaus durch die Mitglieder des Vereins, Freiberufler, die ErzieherInnen und LehrerInnen sowie Eltern verwirklicht. So ist der Omse e.V. ein Ort für Anregungen, zum Ausprobieren, zur Lernmotivation. Er schafft Möglichkeiten zur formalen und informellen Bildung und entwickelt Aufgaben und Projekte zum Lernen in der Welt, vor Ort und für das Quartier (z.B. sozialen Einrichtungen am Ort, Projekte zur Freizeitgestaltung, Lebenshilfe, Ökologie und der Gemeinschaftsgarten Gorbitz).
Der Omse ist ein seit den 90er Jahren im Dresdner Westen tätiger freier Träger bildender und kultureller Einrichtungen sowie Veranstalter und Anstifter von Projekten in den Bereichen Bildung, Kultur, Alltagsbewältigung, Freizeitgestaltung, Ökologie, Energie und Stadt(teil)entwicklung. Der Ursprung unserer Vereinsarbeit liegt in der Beschäftigung mit alten Handwerken und dem Ziel, eine soziokulturelle und ökologisch orientierte Begegnungs- und Bildungsstätte für Menschen jeden Alters zu betreiben. In den letzten Jahren wird es dem Omse e.V. immer wichtiger durch informelle und formelle Bildung den Weg zu einer gerechteren und nachhaltigeren Welt zu beschreiten. Über die Jahre entwickelte der Omse e.V. mit Unterstützung der Europäischen Bildungsprogramme seine internationale Arbeit. Im Grundtvig Programm mit Fortbildungen von 2004 – 2013 für Keramikkursleiter im Programm Weiterbildung für Bildungspersonal, mit 4 Workshops im Programm Learner Workshops für Menschen aus vielen verschiedenen Ländern Europas und als Aufnahmeorganisation für den EVS. Im Erasmus+ Programm nahmen SchülerInnen an 3 Jugendbegegnungen in Marokko teil. Ziel ist es, alle Menschen jeden Alters, die mit dem Omse e.V. in Verbindung stehen, mit Menschen anderer Herkunft und in anderen Ländern in Verbindung zu bringen, um gegenseitiges Verständnis und Verstehen, Zusammenarbeit und Demokratie unter den Menschen weiter zu entwickeln.
Dein Einsatz in einer der 5 Kindertagesstätten oder unserer Schule „Laborschule“: Alle 5 Kindertagesstätten arbeiten nach einem gemeinsam erarbeiteten Konzept.
Wie auch in der Laborschule gibt es altersübergreifende Gruppen. Demokratie und Mitbestimmung spielt auch schon bei den 3-7 jährigen eine wichtige Rolle. Selbstständigkeit und Selbstverantwortung sind Erziehungsziele in den Kindertagesstätten des Omse e.V..
Aufgrund des omseweiten pädagogischen Konzeptes und der gemeinsamen Gesamtorganisation unterscheiden sich die Aufgabenbereiche der Freiwilligen in den verschiedenen Einrichtungen nicht wesentlich.
