Опис на организацијата

Cremona is a town of about 71.924 citizens, county seat of the Cremona province, located in Lombardy. The metropolitan area counts 42 townships and about 153.458 citizens. The city lies in the heart of the Padania region, along the Po River. It is an historic city and is artistically well known. Its economy relies principally on agriculture, even if it is also possible to find important industrial institutions as well as specialized craftsmanship in particular concerning violinmaking and the construction of bows.
Its social fabric is strong and foreign citizens result well integrated within it. In this regard immigrants living in the city result more integrated compared to those living in the countryside who mainly work in the agriculture. In recent times, given the growing mortality rate, several projects concerning job market inclusion have been put in place and partly realized.
At the same time, a strong effort has been made in favour of young children. Moreover, the last political administration showed a particular attention to inclusion problems, with a specific focus on the elderly and people with disabilities, putting into place several projects aimed at guaranteeing an ever-easier cohabitation for all.
Finally, despite an important share of population constituted of elderly people, an action of monitoring young people’s needs has been activated leading to the promotion of several projects aimed at improving the quality of their life and their inclusion within the local environment.
The Liceo Classico “D. Manin” is an historical institution of Cremona’s educational system. Its formative activity is articulated in a formal five-years secondary education study cycle together with a number of projects strongly linked to the territory, aimed at answering young students’ demands (a total of 931 students aged between 14 and 19 years).
These activities include (just to mention some of them) theatre, cinema, informatics, sciences, European and oriental foreign languages, study of social and economic issues etc.
For what concerns the five-year study cycle, the institute provides two different paths: a “classical path” (characterised by a strong relevance given to Latin and ancient Greek languages, as well as Italian literature and history) and a “linguistic path” (characterised by the study of three foreign languages, among which English, French and Spanish or German or Chinese) which provide the students with a strong cultural background, linked to the traditions and projected toward the future.
The school’s staff is made up of 1 Principal (Head teacher), 1 Director responsible for administrative services, 79 teachers, 6 technicians, 14 members of the school staff, external collaborators, and several volunteers.
