Agapedia means love to children. Every child, every person is a unique individual for us. Children aged from six to twelve learn how to use their spare time sensibly at Agapedia Children's Centers every day. These children learn how to be self-confident, to cooperate and to make decisions through children's circuses, crafting, sports, games and relationship-building guidance. We combine different types of non-formal education in areas such as circus, dancing, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, music, sports to help children realize and tap their full potential. In addition to the daily activities, Agapedia offers special thematic holiday programmes (ART Camps, international camps with experiential education elements) as well as takes part in various local events (duck race, Christmas performances, orange campaign) and sports events (Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, FC Geislingen).

The European Solidarity Corps Volunteers will be hosted at our two Children's Centers in Germany: Agapedia Children's Center in Esslingen and Agapedia K19 Herzenssache Haus in Geislingen. The overall management (especially quality and project management) and coordination as well as sending and supporting activities will be provided by our head office in Stuttgart.

Our Children's Center in Esslingen is officially recognized as a voluntary child and youth welfare project by the district of Esslingen supported by the city of Esslingen. Since 2013, it is also an accredited EVS/ESC organisation for coordinating, host and sending activities. The local team have already had hosting experience with 16 volunteers. Our new Children's Center in Geislingen was founded in 2019 as a joint initiative of Agapedia gGmbH and the city of Geislingen. Numerous local partners (e.g. sports club, music club, school cooperations) have already been involved in a participatory process in the development of the K19 concept. Now, they will have the opportunity to use this center as a platform for their own activities and networking.

The International Project Office in Stuttgart is our factory of ideas and is responsible for Agapedia's international network of foundations. The managing directors work closely with Agapedia teams in Central and Eastern Europe to develop and adapt projects to the local needs. They develop new projects, financing plans and create project teams. They are also looking for funding possibilities in order to manage projects in a sustainable way.
