Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

Perm regional branch of the society "Memorial" was founded 12 December 1988. Today Perm "Memorial" counts more than three thoursand members, has 17 affiliates in different cities and regions of Perm krai. Perm "Memorial" is one of the largest public organisations in the region.

Main aims and directions of work of Perm "Memorial":
- commemoration and perpetuation of the memory of victims of totalitarian regime in the USSR;
- assistance in a complete and public rehabilitation of all victims of political repressions;
- restoration of historical truth about the crimes of stalinism, about illegal terroristic methods of ruling the state; studying their reasons and consequences; assistance in recognition of the crimes of stalinism against humans, creation and implementation of constructive solutions in social and legislative spheres, related to surmounting of totalitarian heritage, to creation of solid guarantees agains restoration of totalitarism;
- defending human rights in different spheres of social life;
- active involvement into democratic transformations, assistance in development of active citizenship and legal awareness of citizens , especially young generation.
- to engage young people in social and political activities, civil actions and protection of young people’s rights.
- to promote ideas of volunteering and peaceful conflict resolution
