Active Women Association is a non-governmental women organization that acts for social inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable groups/ youth, seniors, women, social minorities/, tolerance, gender equality and civic society. Main types of actions: non-formal education, strategic partnerships of education staff, exchange of experiences with partners, European mobilities, European Voluntary Services/European Solidarity Corps projects, Senior Volunteer Projects. We are strongly engaged in intercultural activites and intercultural journeys, since 7 years we have run our empowering projects in North Africa, Asia and Europe. We managed to establish many links for transnational cooperation and nowadays we cultivate fruitful partnerships and networking projects cherishing multicultural diversity. AWA is involved in social media campaigns and non-formal education to raise awareness of various social issues, e.g intolerance, violence, discrimination, racism. Our headquaters is located in Sosnowiec city center, sourrounded by many relevant stakeholders and organisations. We have been cooperating in many partnerships projects with Sosnowiec Municipality, local and regional governments in Silesia Region, various Ministries and national administration, other non-governmental organisations in Europe, Partner Countries and worldwide.

Our Inititives' Goals:
- Youth and adult non-formal education of vulnerable groups, such as women, youth, seniors, etc.
- Increasing the participation of citizens in public, social, professional and cultural life
- Promotion of health, especially reproductive health and healthy lifestyle
- Preventing the anti-social problems based on stereotypes and prejudice, with particular emphasis on the rights of women, children and disadvantaged groups because of social status, national origin, religion, lifestyle and sexual orientation.
- Promote and protect human rights and activities to promote equal opportunities and rights for women and men in all areas of life.
- Prevent violence against women, girls, children and other vulnerable groups
- Initiate and implement programs that contribute to reducing unemployment through social mobilization, including the promotion of volunteering and vocational activities
- Initiating and implementing educational programs and campaigns that contribute to the growth of interest in social activities, engaging citizens in volunteering activities in Poland and Europe
- Support the development of democracy and civil society by promoting the participation of citizens in the local community and creating pro-social attitudes , with particular emphasis on measures to combat exclusion and social pathologies.
- Promotion and development of culture, arts, protection of culture and tradition,, rising the level of cultural awereness
- Encourage the creative and cultural activities through capacity-building and strengthening of cultural competence in the
projects
- activities to promote dialogue between cultures, intercultural communication and dialogue
- Promotion of diverse and innovative methods of personal development: choreotherapy, music therapy and art therapy
- raising the level of cultural awareness and enhancing cultural expression
- The promotion of alternative forms of leisure
- Support in the form of training and information for local NGOs.
