Friends of the Elderly is an Irish non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and improving the lives of older people. We aim to alleviate loneliness & isolation amongst older people and enable them to maintain their independence while feeling connected to a larger community. We provide services to over 1000 older people with the help of 350 volunteers.

Our focus is on a practical approach by providing services such as Home Visitation, Friendly Phone Calls, Food Hamper programs and hosting daily activities at our hall. Technology Clubs provide an opportunity for our members to overcome the digital divide and regular talks and workshops promote positive ageing. We support volunteers from all walks of life, including those with lesser opportunities. We are proud to collaborate with many schools and colleges as part of our Transition Year & Internship Program, which facilitates student placements helping us to address the intergenerational divide.
