Public Library of Pomiechówek Commune is a municipal cultural institution active in the field of popularisation of culture and promotion of reading on the territory of the commune for 70 years, ie. from 1949. The main seat of the library is located in Pomiechówek, it also has a branch in Kosewo. The library employs 9 people.

The library collects and provides children and adult literature, scientific and popular science books as well as audiobooks. Its collection covers the following fields: classic and contemporary literature, required reading books, humanities and social sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, encyclopaedias and dictionaries, literature in foreign languages. Moreover, the library collects and provides materials about the region documenting past and presence of the Pomiechówek Commune and its surrounding.
Beside the traditional role, which is collection and providing its collections, the library organises numerous cultural and educational activities, e.g. meetings with authors, programming and robotics classes, computer courses for seniors, competitions, workshops for children, discussion meetings about literature, exhibitions and concerts.

The library participates in nationwide campaigns and events:
- Libraries Week in May (film screenings, competitions, workshops for children),
- Librarians’ Bike Ride in June (bike ride for readers and fans of books
- Libraries Night in October (film screenings, workshops for children)
- Little book – a great man (throughout the year) - social campaign promoting reading for children aimed at parents
and co-organises events with other local institutions, schools and organisations:
- Artbazar in March and December – book fair, art workshops, children animation,
- Cultural Women’s Day in March,
- Children’s Day in June.

The main seat as well as the branch of the library was renovated in 2015 and adjusted to various kinds of activities aimed at the local community such as computer, programming and language courses, meeting rooms, exhibitions.

Pomiechówek Commune has around 9 thousand inhabitants whereas Pomiechówek village itself around 3 thousand. It is located 45 km from Warsaw and 10 km from the nearest town. The commune has mostly recreational character due to surrounding forests and the Wkra River.
