opis organizacji

The Val d'Oise Youth Information Centre (Centre Information Jeunesse 95) is part of the national youth information network approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and created in 1969. The aim of the Youth Information network is to welcome and inform young people about all the topics that may concern them on a daily basis: studies and jobs, employment and training, housing, health, leisure and culture, European and international mobility, etc.

The CIJ is an association under the French law of 1901 and has been in existence since 1979. Our association is at the head of the network of Youth Information organisation in the Val d'Oise area. It coordinates and accompanies the IJ structures at departmental level by running the network, providing educational tools, training and developing youth policies.
The structure is also labelled Eurodesk and Europe Direct, which are European information networks specialising in European issues: on support for the European and international mobility of young people and youth workers, in particular through Erasmus + for the Eurodesk network, and on general questions from citizens about Europe for Europe Direct.

CIJ's values :
- a mission of general interest at the service of the public, considering access to information as a fundamental right for young people
- the values of informal education because each individual has the desire and ability to influence his or her future
- a space of freedom to reinforce autonomy, information as a decision-making tool
- a place of citizenship, exchange and conviviality to better live one's daily life
- value initiative to encourage the civic engagement of young people
- an unconditional welcome, free, anonymous and appointment free access
- a firmly European dimension (European charter, Eurodesk and Europe Direct labels, information on mobility, etc.)

General missions of the CIJ :
- To welcome and inform the public
- Produce adapted information tools
- Co-ordinating the departmental network
- Supporting public youth policies

On a daily basis, the CIJ offers all young people, parents and youth workers a free, anonymous, walk-in service, personalised on request, from self-documentation to individual interviews, carried out by specially trained professionals.

Examples of regular activities: workshops on European and international mobility for secondary school pupils/students but also for young people who have dropped out of school, training open to young workers (including mobility and European funding), the development of "Europe Kiosks" in schools...
