Vecpiebalga union Youth Affairs Department works with the union's youth throughout Vecpiebalga union. The department of youth affairs coordinates all issues in the municipalities related to youth affairs, coordinates the activities of the county youth centers.
Currently, the Department of Youth Affairs has two youth specialists, a youth worker, a youth center attendant and a sports coordinators. The unit also coordinates youth exchange projects and volunteer projects undertaken by the Youth Center "Balgas strops". The aim of the department is the interests and initiative of young people in Vecpiebalga union and to promote versatility youth development. The main activities carried out by the department and various leisure activities for young people, activities with a purpose to promote the active participation of young people, involvement in decision-making, promotion of local volunteering, informal
implementation of educational activities aimed at developing young people's social skills. The target audience of the department is young people aged 13 to 25, young people from rural areas including young people with fewer opportunities, young people with learning difficulties, behavioral problems and young people in sight of the social service.
