Polska Fundacja im. Roberta Schumana (from hereon after referred to as "Foundation” or “PFRS") is a non-governmental, non-political organisation, founded in 1991. Our mission is to motivate Polish and European citizens to active civic participation and to promote European integration and foster the values on which it is based.

We accomplish this mission among others by:
- engaging citizens in active participation in the process of European integration through taking part in discussions, formulating demands, contacting national and European institutions,
- encouraging Polish and European citizens to get to know Europe and its values by education mobilities in Europe, including international volunteering, and by taking part in interactive, involving activities,
- increasing the knowledge about European integration, European countries, their cultures, history, geography and languages,
- facilitating contact, cooperation and relationship building between the citizens of Europe,
- promoting European values, such as tolerance, solidarity, respect of human dignity & rights, equality, pluralism, non-discrimination, freedom, the rule of law,
- encouraging citizens to become interested and to express openly and actively their views on public affairs, social, economic and political issues in their local communities, their country as well as of the whole Europe,
- enhancing civic education and non-formal learning,
- supporting voluntary service, including the international one,
- increasing the scope of European topics in public debate in Poland, inviting to the discussion on the future of Europe experts and opinion leaders and publishing reports.

Activities of the Foundation include organizing workshops, conferences, seminars, interactive activities such as simulations of elections and urban games, pro-European media campaigns, educational and mass events in the public space, coordinating a network of European Clubs, organizing cultural exchange projects and taking part in European voluntary movement.

Important target group of our activities is youth as well as average citizens, who are not experts in European affairs and who do not operate within those topics on every-day basis. Activities aiming at increasing the public debate in Poland on European topics are dedicated to opinion leaders and experts.

The Foundation cooperates with a wide range of institutions and civil society organizations in Warsaw and other cities in Poland as well as other countries within and outside the EU. It supports cultural, scientific and educational organisations that actively contribute to the development of closer bonds between Poland, EU institutions and other EU Member States as well as the infrastructure of ngos active in similar fields of work. We coordinate a network of about 400 European clubs in Poland and maintain contact with European clubs and schools from EU and other countries.
