CEF Lyncx is a grass roots community-led Charity formed by a group of local professionals in March 2011 with a core aim to help improve life chances for disadvantaged children, young people and families living in Lambeth. We achieve this aim through working with the community to create extra-learning opportunities to help them achieve their full potential. The organisation is run and managed by dedicated Trustees from the local community.

CEF Lyncx has a mandate to advance education and provide capacity building opportunities for people who are socially, emotionally, educational and economically disadvantaged. Our direct beneficiaries each week, 90% of 600, are children and young people.
We achieve our aims/objectives by collaborating and cooperating with our local community and service provider to develop and deliver learning opportunities that aim at addressing needs and achieving desirable outcomes for the community and partners.
Each week, CEF Lyncx work with nearly 600 young people across Lambeth. The activities we develop and run with our community to help achieve our aims/objectives are:
1. extra study support schooling programme (S3P) offering 2 hour daily sessions of after-school additional learning support in English (literacy), Maths (numeracy) and science; helping improve confidence in curricula learning and raising attainment levels for 5 to 16 year olds,
2. football training programmes engaging with 200 young people across Lambeth, offering 2 hour daily sessions and 3 monthly tournaments to enhance confidence, provide learning opportunities, encouraging community cohesion and engagement for the young residents, majority of whom are 'hard to engage',
3. targeted workshops to improve learning and personal development outcomes for young people identified and developed in partnership with the individual or community.
4. Holiday Activities to help improve school holiday experience for young people.
All our activities are run weekly on local housing estates community halls and sports facilities across Lambeth and more than 90% of the community who access our work are young people and parents live on social housing estates and experience high levels of disadvantage.
Our mission is,
‘reaching out and helping communities discover their full potential and celebrate their achievements’
This means we strive to work with our community to develop activities they believe will help them develop the skills they need to achieve meaningful improvements and reaching their full potential.
Our Achievements:
Since inception, our after school extra-curricular learning programme in literacy, numeracy and science, has engaged with over 1000 young people, helping improve learning outcomes for more than 800 disadvantaged young Lambeth residents living on and around Lambeth.

We have developed partnerships that have lead to improved confidence in CEFLyncx work and helped increased partnership with local housing management and Living Managed Tenants & Resident Associations (TRA) and winning the ‘Best Community Initiative Award’ in 2014.
