Beschreibung der Einrichtung

Humanitas is a professional organisation in the health care for mentaly disadvantaged people, We have several houses were these people live together like a smaller family under the guidance of several professional people. Some of them work during the day in special centra, some of them go to day care or farms. It is a variety of people with a variety of “Problems”which we prefer to call “help demands” the organisation is not that big so really transparant for everybody in the structure and who is responsible for what. Volunteers will be under guidance doing the same job and by that learn a lot but also feel very useful. This will be a follow up of the first evs experience and we are totally ready for this.

Humanitas has now 9 years EVS/ESC Experience, and will go on to work together with the organising NGO Rock Solid foundation for international youth work as CO. They will do the applications and the theoretical part and write together with us the application and together with them we will select the volunteers that are going to work in our organisation.

We believe that it is important to share our knowledge in health care for mentally disadvantaged people with the rest of the world, starting in and around europe because in our opinion this territory is in the Netherlands one of the best in these regions.
Volunteers can learn a lot from this next to the fact that they can really learn a lot in intercultural learning and European dimensions.

We are aiming for 4-6 volunteers a year and also the projects will be for 12 month, because it is important for our clients that people working with them are a stabile factor and do not disappear after a few weeks already it is important to have time to build a situation of trust between the volunteers and our clients.
