Tallinna kindergarten Südameke has been working since september 1957 when it was first opened as Tallinna 19th Lastepäevakodu. Tallinna 19. Lastepäevakodu was open round the clock and had 5 groups where study language was russian. In 1999 the name of the institution was changed to Tallinna kindergarten Südameke and in 2003 the institution moved to it's current location at Pärnu mnt 109a in the centre of Tallinn. 2017 september Tallinna kindergarten Südameke will be celebrating it's 60th birthday.
Currently has kindergarten eleven groups. In five groups the study language is estonian, one of those groups is for children with special needs. In three groups the study language is russian and also one of those groups is for children with special needs. Two of our groups are bilingual groups that use estonian and russian language. Each group has proper equipments that are based on childrens ages that are in that group. Because we have two different type of groups based on study language, the kindergarten pays great attention on integration. Some events are in estonian language but also the children from russain groups attend and some events are the other way around. Some events the hosts will speak alternately estonian and russian language. For us it is important that the integration happens through games and daily activities so it will be suitable for children at all ages. The kindergarten has big yard what has been renewed in recent years that gives opportunities to do learning and playing activities in outdoors on daily basis. Also kindergarten has contributed many resources and bought tablets, educational robots, interactive boards, camera etc. to bring alternation in daily activities for children. Kindergarten also has it's own newspaper.
Two of our groups use "Free of bullying" and "Persona Dolls" methodology. All eleven groups also use in daily basis the minute of silence methodology. Two of our groups started to use project based learning and also use elements from Reggio Emilia teaching culture. Kindergarten Südameke belongs to network of kindergartens aiming to educate children on health.
Our mission: To create a supporting learning and playing environment for children who are caring an value healthy lifestyle.
Our vision: Tallinna kindergarten Südameke is intelligent guide to happy growing child that is valued by parents .
