The Archdiocesan Center for Youth Pastoral "John Paul II." (hereinafter: Youth Center) officially exists and has been active for 14 years. It is officially registered in 2007, but its story began in 2004 after the establishment of the Youth Ministry committee by Rev. Šimo Maršić PhD, doctor of pastoral theology and current director of the Youth Center. In addition to the Youth Office, other associations are operating inside the Center: the Association of Catholic Students "Emaus", the Committee for Youth of the Bishops' Conference of BiH, and the Foundation for Scholarships "FONSS". From the very beginning, the Youth Center is a place where various projects and activities in working with young people are planned and organized, all with the aim of providing support and employment for young people, so they can grow into mature and responsible adults who can contribute to the development of society and local community. The Center is a place where young people have the opportunity to foster and share their faith, to meet others and encounter different people. It promotes a positive intercultural learning environment conducive for personal growth, as well as for the social inclusion of young people from different cultural, economic and social backgrounds. The diverse methods and approaches to youth programming brought to our office by previous volunteers have enhanced the overall experience of the youth involved with the Center.
