SDU is a public university established in 1992 to provide spread of higher education aspects of Turkey outside of the metropolitan areas.It has the largest capacity among 23 universities established on the same date.SDU -with its 29 years of history & experience -as a young, dynamic and contemporary university grounded on the motto of "University means establishing a new spirit, a new notion, inspiration & productivity!" & has the vision of providing social & economic benefit to the Western Mediterrenean & the Lakes Region, as well as creating a dynamic & innovative R&D intensive ecosystem that will enable the current academic success & knowledge to shape the future.Fairness,transparency, accountability,participation,interdisciplinary scientific approach,excellence,productivity,innovation,creative thinking,intellectual freedom,freedom of speech,compliance with ethical rules,quality,student orientation,social-environmental-aesthetic sensitivity,shedding light on the future & improving the job satisfation are the core values of SDU.It has 15 faculties (Faculty of Dentistry,Faculty of Pharmacy,Faculty of Education,Faculty of Arts&Sciences,Faculty of Fine Arts,Faculty of Law,Faculty of Economics& Administrative Sciences,Faculty of Divinity,Faculty of Communication,Faculty of Architecture,Faculty of Engineering,Faculty of Health Sciences,Faculty of Sports Sciences,Faculty of Technical Education,Faculty of Medicine),2 colleges,1 conservatory,4 vocational schools,6 graduate schools.
