Narva Language Lyceum is the biggest school in the county of Ida-Virumaa (north-east of Estonia) with 970 students (170 students in gymnasium). It provides both basic and upper secondary education. The main aim of the school is to provide high quality education which will help the students be competitive and successful in further studies and work. In the national rating for state exams our school has achieved the first places among 182 schools. This is a great achievement proving our high level of academic preparation. Our values: we are trustworthy, open to cooperation, creative and rational. There are 83 professional teachers, who use modern technologies and approaches in their work. In total there are 113 employees in the school. In 2007 the school became a member of early language immersion programme. In 2011 we joined A.C.E. programme for intensive learning of English. The school pays a lot of attention to sports, healthy life style and extra-curricular activities. Our areas of priorities are humanities, environmental studies and entrepreneurship. We have become a cooperation centre at local, national and international levels organising numerous projects and initiatives together with other schools, universities, cultural establishments, local authorities, non-governmental institutions and other social partners.
Our school organises a variety of extra-curricular activities for pre-school and school children on a regular base (twice a month). They are different competitions, performances, celebrations, games, etc. We also have a drama club and a club of robotics. Every week we arrange extra language classes for our currect and future students. In June we organise an annual summer camp.
Apart from English we teach German and Chinese. We would be happy if other languages could be promoted (if the volunteer is not native English speaker).
