Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

The aim of the “Balvi municipally children and youth center” is to develop children and youth potential and to diversify possibilities of their free time spending.

The target group is children and youth from different social and economical backgrounds in municipality of Balvi.

Regular activities in the youth center are: dance/language/IT classes; sport and cultural activities; different topic events for children and youth development; workshops; formal and informal training (vocal/ guitar/ make-up, design).

Main activities:
1.Organizing different work-shops and lessons, that would help to develop different skills (dance/guitar playing/English/singing/IT etc. lessons);
2.Activities for children and youth to integrate them in society (meeting government and discussing with them, taking a part in different local and co-operation projects etc.);
3.Children and youth environment development (realizing different projects to get new equipment for children and youth interest development);
4.Organizing different events in culture and sports (as well cultural events, where kids learn about different places in world, what people do there etc);
5.Activities that help to develop different skills for life (leader school, stage art, life skill school etc.);
6.Taking into account youth initiative for other projects, activities and events;
7.Volunteering activities (local and European volunteering service).

As well from 2013, youth center active youngsters developed an NGO "Kalmārs", that works hand-in-hand with youth center, creating more opportunities for young people. As well the organization has social and youth organization status and is still active partner with youth center.
