From the creation in 1998 of the Asociación Cultural Indaliana Jazz Band, whose objective is to contribute to the dissemination of classical music and jazz, facilitating a wide musical and cultural offer, in 2011 the Fundación Indaliana para la Música y las Artes was born, an entity with a higher official status with the objective of disseminating specialy classical music, jazz and other artistic disciplines, such as dance, theater, comedy, photography, painting, etc.
The aims of the Foundation are:
- Promote music and the arts (especially classical music and jazz) - Raise the musical-cultural level of the province.
- To promote music and the arts for children and young people by creating chamber ensembles, young big bands and young jazz ensembles, train them and jazz ensembles, to train them and to carry out a continuous program of performances.
- To collaborate with different foundations in the field of art and music to help merge different visual arts with music
- Collaborate with cultural associations that promote classical music, jazz and Andalusian Cultural Heritage.
- Organize classical music and jazz performances by renowned performers to enrich the cultural offerings of our city.
- To create a Chamber Orchestra of the Foundation to offer a stable classical music program.
- To organize jazz cycles with performances by great groups such as the Clasijazz Big Band.
- To promote opera and operatic singing by projecting a series of chamber and operatic performances.
- To publish books and works in the field of Andalusian musical research.
- To investigate the work of Andalusian composers who have dedicated themselves to the composition of classical and traditional music, including the study of folklore, traditional music, including the study of the folklore of the town of Almeria.
- Encourage the arts such as painting, sculpture, poetry and photography as long as the works have a nexus of union with music.
