AddArt is a nonprofit multi-arts organization from Greece with a core mission to add art to everyday life, promoting and supporting the growth of the creative industries and economies. From its outset, it is perceived as a laboratory of ideas and a springboard for artistic expression, based on the principle that art and culture may catalyze change and act as agents of social and economic development. Having as backdrop the rich cultural fabric of the city of Thessaloniki, this NGO was founded in early 2014 and consists of highly experienced members and artists who already have had an opportunity to prove themselves both in and outside of their local community.
AddArt commissions, produces and presents compelling art content and projects on a local, national and transnational level. Operating on an interdisciplinary basis at the intersection between art and technology and having experience in the field of comics, storytelling, filming, animation, gaming, painting and sculpting, AddArt is focused to add artistic and innovative activities as well as messages in collaboration with various sectors such as education and entertainment.
AIMS
• Nurture more agile and resilient creative ecosystems.
• Support cultural and creative entrepreneurship and encourage innovation.
• Enable the internationalization of European cultural and audiovisual operators.
• Promote cultural participation and consumption.
• Build stronger communities and economies by making culture more widely available.
OBJECTIVES
• Develop new forms of working practices (more collaborative, grassroots and cross sectoral) and provide networking opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and success-stories.
• Analyse key trends, involving technology, audience demographic etc. and advance models of innovation and adaptive change.
• Strengthen the capacities of cultural operators and organizations through professional development and enabling tools (training, resources, and advocacy).
• Support the mobility of cultural operators and the circulation of their works through synergies.
• Foster community arts education and audience development.
• Empower artists, as well as diverse and underrepresented communities to use arts-based approaches to resolve issues and address present-day concerns.
