Presentation: Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) is one of two universities in the garden of tolerance, Hatay. Our main target is to become an “unique” university, prioritizing innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on technology by composing a distinctive education and research model. Set in the heart of city, our university is surrounded by a natural and peerless formation, Iskenderun Gulf and a natural gate between Anatolia and Middle East, Amanos Mountains. On the way of historical silk road, Iskenderun, is still one of the important trade and industry centers. Being in such an important geographical location makes a great contribution to our university's target "Unique".

ISTE is the making of an international institution with students studying in the central campus from various countries. ISTE offers education in 7 faculties, including faculty of engineering and natural sciences, faculty of tourism, faculty of aeronautics and astronautics, faculty of marine sciences and technology, barbaros hayrettin naval architecture and maritime faculty, faculty of architecture, faculty of management and administrative sciences, as well as institute of graduate sciences, mustafa yazıcı state conservatory and 5 vocational schools.

The mission of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) witihin the frame of internationalization, is to provide the young people, students and staff an international experience in volunteering, training and research, to help outgoing students and staff; incoming foreign students and scientists integrate with the university, take maximum advantage of programs and projects, and to contribute to the development of the region and country.

The vision of Iskenderun Technical University (ISTE) witihin the frame of internationalization, is to exchange information relating to the programs and projects in order to ensure the university’s effective communication with national and international communities.


Main activities:
a) Achieve the ISTE's internationalisation objectives by establishing new cooperation with the institutions, NGOs, regional authorities, and enterprises across EU and EU partner countries, while taking into account the ISTE’s requirements and potential.
b) Carry out Erasmus+ Program and ESC which is coordinated by The Center for EU Education and Youth Programs (Turkish National Agency).
c) Promote the Erasmus+ Program and ESC and provide information on both project opportunities (mobility, volunteering projects etc.) to help young people, students and staff in producing projects or taking part in them without paying any fee. Promote a fair and equal society in which pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality prevail.
d) Provide young people, the individuals with fewer opportunities included, with easily accessible opportunities for engagement in solidarity activities effecting positive societal change, while improving their skills and competences for personal, educational, social, civic, cultural and professional development, as well as facilitating their active citizenship, employability and transition into the labour market, including by supporting the mobility of young volunteers, trainees and job seekers.
e) Ensure that particular efforts are made to promote solidarity, social inclusion and equal opportunities, in particular for the participation of young people with fewer opportunities through a range of special measures such as appropriate formats of solidarity activities and personalised support;
f) Contribute to European cooperation relevant to young people and raising awareness of its positive impact.
g) Organize introductory seminars with the target of broadcasting International projects, programs, seminars, courses, summer school and similar opportunities to the students and teaching staff of the university. Distribute introductory flyers,
make announcements through the website, social media and send bulletins via e-mail.
h) Provide the allocation of the whole fund transferred to the ISTE by Turkish National Agency within the scope of EU Programs and follow expenditures and payments.
i) Carry out international protocol correspondences and organize International visits.
j) Organizing staff weeks, orientation weeks for students and activities etc relating to national and international cooperation. Plan and carry out the activities such as these which are to be held at ISTE.
k) Collaborate with the related units regarding student and staff that will participate in International exchange programs and require short-term foreign language training and orientation programs.

Target groups:
University students from all degrees, academic and administrative staff, youths, youth workers, local people, entrepreneurs, immigrants, those with fewer opportunities/having a disadvantaged background

  • This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
