YouNet Reggio-Emilia is an Italian organization active in the area of international volunteering, education, training and youth.
The Association pursues the following objectives:
- promote and support local and international volunteering and transnational mobility as tools for social intervention and the construction of an inclusive, tolerant society that lays its foundations on intercultural dialogue;
- contributing to the development and renewal of the educational system, the third sector and the whole world of no-profit as a socio-cultural and economic engine of a fairer and more equitable society;
- support and encourage training on learning mobility and active citizenship, in particular young people and individuals with disadvantages;
- give visibility, facilitate and promote access to a European and intercultural dimension, by fighting racism and xenophobia and supporting respect for and enhancement of cultural diversity and understanding mutual;
- promoting the training, exchange and networking of educators, operators and institutions in the educational world and the third sector.
To achieve its objectives, YouNet Reggio-Emilia promotes and takes care of the organization on a local, regional, national and international: voluntary activities and promotion, support and coordination of them ; short, medium and long-term voluntary and training projects; activity of information, cultural, social, recreational and editorial; seminars and training courses aimed at associations, schools, training centers, teachers, social workers and young people; promotion initiatives, training and information on specific topics related to the association goals described above.
YouNet Reggio-Emilia organises learning mobility and educational activities such as training courses, seminars, and job-shadowing tailored for teachers, school and adult education staff, youth workers civil servants and youths.
To achieve the aforementioned purposes the Association can give its membership to associations and entities that can favour the achievement of social goals, federating to national and international structures and / or promoting forms of stable or temporary cooperation with other associations, bodies or public institutions; private individuals with the same goals.
YouNet Reggio-Emilia works as a network cooperating with public institutions, cooperatives, training centres, schools, universities, and other educations institutions. YouNet Reggio-Emilia builds on the far-reaching experience of YouNet. YouNet Reggio-Emilia operates in the cities of Reggio nell’Emilia and Parma.
In detail, the activities developed so far by YouNet Reggio-Emilia are:
- Local activities with schools and other training centers (Non-formal activities on multiculturalism, active citizenship and European awareness, workshops on youth policy issues and opportunities for young people)
- Involvement of local young people, in particular with fewer opportunities, through training activities such as Youth Worker and involving them as volunteers in the organization of language tandems, cultural activities with young people and social inclusion activities;
- Reception activities, orientation, integration and support of young foreign students who carry out training periods in Italy;
- Integration activities, training and job opportunities for young asylum seekers and intercultural dialogue between young Italians and asylum seekers;
YouNet Reggio-Emilia develops and supports educational projects with international students and young people for the benefit of the youngsters who participate in this experience and to widen the openness to internationalization of the area where it operates, also improving the European awareness between local young people.
