Since 1986, arco has been connecting different pedagogical approaches to work efficiently with children, international youth, and adults.

arco's holistic approach is based on three pillars:
- traditional interactive pedagogy at its core,
- tightly paired with sports and gestalt therapy,
- smoothly transitioning to play and theatre pedagogy.

This cross-cutting of diverse methods requires from arco and our participants to be highly flexible, alert, and ready for action. Equipped with simple materials, we create an environment with scenarios that participants can then take into their everyday.

In many projects, we put the movement (Bewegungsansatz in German) at the forefront of the development process. Going hand in hand, movement boosts education. For example, the usage of body language and pantomime can support language learning.

Overall, arco's approach leads to the development of the following skills:
- independent and self-responsible acting
- Learning to explore and to perceive it as leisure and enjoyable work
- consequent work for a targeted aim
- Learning about oneself and others with fun
- conflict handling and autonomy
- Living and working together in a group
- Intercultural learning

arco is an institution for lifelong learning. Using a resource-oriented, holistic approach, we accompany the individual in their lifelong learning process and raise awareness about their own limits and opportunities.
In general, arco uses as few simple materials as possible for projects and enables participants to encounter key situations that they can later transfer to their own living environment. A conceptual combination of play, theater, and outdoor education, which is used in a project-oriented manner, serves as the methodological basis. This requires a high degree of flexibility from learners as well as leaders. In this way, individual / group-related process support takes place, which can increase interest and motivation to learn.
The movement approach is seen in many projects as the foundation for the development process. Through specific exercise events, we achieve a smooth transition into the methods of play, theater and outdoor education. For example, in cultural work, the use of movement (mime, body language) can support the use of language.

arco develops its own methods, materials, and concepts that expand and enrich the experience-based approach. We also offer various courses as part of the children's and youth academy and adult education.

As a recognized provider of child and youth welfare, arco is the point of contact for socially, educationally and therapeutically oriented institutions, such as child and youth centers as well as care facilities, schools, organisations and associations of youth work and educational institutions for adults: interactive educational training and team days, educational leave and professional training. In the Rhine-Main area, arco is a partner of numerous institutions such as youth welfare institutions, kindergartens, day-care centers, adult education institutions, sponsors of children's cultural projects, schools, prevention projects and institutions for theater and adventure education.

Seit 1986 verbindet arco verschiedene pädagogische Ansätze, um effizient mit Kindern, internationalen Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen zu arbeiten.

Der ganzheitliche Ansatz von arco stützt sich auf drei Säulen:
- die traditionelle interaktive Pädagogik im Kern der Arbeit,

- welche fließend zur Spiel- und Theaterpädagogik übergeht.

Diese Überschneidung verschiedener Methoden erfordert von arco und unseren Teilnehmern ein hohes Maß an Flexibilität, Aufmerksamkeit und Einsatzbereitschaft. Ausgestattet mit einfachen Materialien schaffen wir eine Umgebung mit Szenarien, die die Teilnehmer in ihren Alltag mitnehmen können.

In vielen Projekten stellen wir den Bewegungsansatz in den Vordergrund des Entwicklungsprozesses. Hand in Hand geht, dass Bewegung die Bildung fördert. So kann beispielsweise der Einsatz von Körpersprache und Pantomime das Sprachenlernen unterstützen.

Insgesamt führt der arco-Ansatz zur Entwicklung der folgenden Fähigkeiten:
- selbständiges und eigenverantwortliches Handeln
- Lernen zu erforschen und es als Freizeit und lustvolle Arbeit zu begreifen
- konsequente Arbeit für ein gezieltes Ziel

arco ist eine Einrichtung für lebenslanges Lernen. Mit einem ressourcenorientierten, ganzheitlichen Ansatz begleiten wir den Einzelnen in seinem lebenslangen Lernprozess und sensibilisieren ihn für seine eigenen Grenzen und Möglichkeiten.
Generell verwendet arco für die Projekte möglichst einfache Materialien und ermöglicht den Teilnehmenden die Begegnung mit Schlüsselsituationen, die sie später auf ihr eigenes Lebensumfeld übertragen können. Als methodische Grundlage dient eine konzeptionelle Kombination aus Spiel, Theater und Outdoor-Pädagogik, die projektorientiert eingesetzt wird. Dies erfordert sowohl von den Lernenden als auch von den Leitenden ein hohes Maß an Flexibilität. Auf diese Weise findet eine individuelle/gruppenbezogene Prozessbegleitung statt, die das Interesse und die Lernmotivation steigern kann.
Der Bewegungsansatz wird in vielen Projekten als Grundlage für den Entwicklungsprozess gesehen. Durch gezielte Bewegungsangebote erreichen wir einen fließenden Übergang zu den Methoden der Spiel-, Theater- und Outdoorpädagogik. In der Kulturarbeit kann z.B. der Einsatz von Bewegung (Pantomime, Körpersprache) den Einsatz von Sprache unterstützen.

arco entwickelt eigene Methoden, Materialien und Konzepte, die den erlebnispädagogischen Ansatz erweitern und bereichern. Darüber hinaus bieten wir verschiedene Kurse im Rahmen der Kinder- und Jugendakademie und der Erwachsenenbildung an.

Als anerkannter Träger der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe ist arco Ansprechpartner für sozialpädagogisch und therapeutisch ausgerichtete Einrichtungen, wie Kinder- und Jugendzentren sowie Betreuungseinrichtungen, Schulen, Organisationen und Verbände der Jugendarbeit und Bildungseinrichtungen für Erwachsene: interaktive Bildungs- und Teamtage, Bildungsurlaub und Fortbildungen. Im Rhein-Main-Gebiet ist arco Partner zahlreicher Einrichtungen wie Jugendhilfeeinrichtungen, Kindergärten, Kindertagesstätten, Einrichtungen der Erwachsenenbildung, Träger von Kinderkulturprojekten, Schulen, Präventionsprojekten und Einrichtungen der Theater- und Erlebnispädagogik.
