Kalimat believes in understanding and respect; through engaging each other, we can find ways to dissolve discrimination, racism and ethnocentricity. A key component of this process is intercultural dialogue. Kalimat looks to imbue this educational approach into its classes, and ethos as an organisation. The team at Kalimate believes that the more we can come to understand each other, the more we are able to work towards peaceful solutions to any challenges.

Kalimat offers high quality Arabic language and cultural activities at all levels of competence in a comfortable and inspiring environment. We target students from all age groups and walks of life, as part of our practice of being an inclusive organisation. We have had university students, expatriates, mothers, businessmen and women, and diplomats as students at Kalimat. We also partner with organisations seeking to provide their staff with competence in Arabic language and culture.

Class sizes are kept small, between 2 to 5 people per class. This is to ensure that all students are able to gain from individual attention. Kalimat accommodates the special needs of each student in order to maximize their experience of the Kalimat programmes and activities.

In addition to the acquisition of Arabic language skills, Kalimat courses aim to improve the student’s understanding of the Egyptian, and Arab, cultures. At Kalimat, we tailor our Arabic courses to meet the needs of groups or individuals who learn Arabic for special purposes, such as Egyptian dialect, conversation, business or academic Arabic. All Kalimat Arabic teachers have internationally recognized professional qualifications as teachers of Arabic as a Foreign Language and proven track-records in international organizations.
