The Chorzów Culture Center is a public cultural institution which was founded in 2008, referring to the rich traditions of culture animation dating back to the inter-war period, when in the building at Sienkiewicza 3 Street operated the People's House.
In 2016, frame of activities of Culture Center changed and since this change, instutition gained more social character what refers to the first years of work of the People's House in the beginning of XX century, where the theater had a social character, thanks to which Chorzów could be involved in the
activities which supported the integration of residents of the city and education of its inhabitiants.
We have established four programs that implement the basic objectives of our institution:
- Education for creative life
- Social revitalization through culture
- Theater animation
- Creating high-quality artistic events
In addition to organization of our own projects, we also want to provide a space in which groups of residents can implement their own projects in the field of culture. We also moderate the cooperation of various entities around building social capital, which will make Chorzów a good place for a full, creative and rewarding life.
KEY ACTIVITIES OF CHORZÓW CULTURE CENTER
Cultural Education
The aim of the program is to adapt the educational and artistic offer to the needs of all age groups and to integrate creative education activities that are undertaken in Chorzów by various entities, both public, social and economic. Our goal is to implement a Cultural Education Program that is coherent and adapted to the social changes in our city.
In the cultural activity program, we propose a wide artistic and cultural offer addressed to the young people who want to develop their passions. We organize dance, art, theater and vocal classes, giving the possibility of interpersonal and individual development of creative group participants.
Chorzów Animation Center
We often think about culture in terms of entertainment and spending free time, while the active participation of residents in culture increases the feeling of their satisfaction from the place where they live, generates social and economic development, brings measurable profits to the city. Through animation activities, we want to build the social capital of the Center district.
Universal scene
Our intention is to build a theater program that combines professional artists with theater enthusiasts, integrates the creative environment around valuable stage performances
ChCK Events Office
The Chorzów Cultural Center has been a place of important artistic events since its inception. Through interesting series of concerts and festivals, we want to build a community that finds the best conditions for receiving culture within the walls of our Center.
The main activities of the institution include programming, organizing and implementing activities in the field of popularizing culture among young people. Recognition and stimulation of interests and cultural needs. Shaping active participation in culture, creating conditions for combining the values of
Polish culture with the culture of other nations as well as supporting activities for the protection of cultural goods, especially the mental culture of the region.
