Descrição da organização

The University of Wolverhampton holds a distinctive place within the higher education sector, and is one of the most successful modern universities delivering excellence in teaching and research, widening access and business engagement. Established over 190 years ago we currently have over 23,000 students studying at the university supported by over 2,000 staff. We continue to develop our role as a University of Opportunity in meeting the social and economic needs of the region we serve. We have three main campuses, City campus in the centre of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus and Telford Innovation Campus. In addition, we have learning centres in Burton, Stafford and Birmingham and operate the University of Wolverhampton Science Park, a centre of enterprise and innovation. We are renowned for having an excellent graduate employment record and the University plays a leading role in the economic development of the West Midlands. Our portfolio encompasses a wide portfolio including: social sciences, education, health and well-being. We have a well developed sense of purpose in respect of widening participation and widening access and securing student success. We define access as providing opportunities and making sure individuals are able to maximise those opportunities we provide, focusing on a supportive learning environment and a recognition of diversity.

The University of Wolverhampton vision is to internationalise the experience of all its students and staff through offering the opportunity to participate in study or a training period abroad. As a higher education institution we have pledged our support in striving towards a collective ambition of 20% of graduates in the EHEA to have undertaken a study, volunteering or training period abroad by 2020. Strengthening our international presence and contribution to the global community is one of the fundamental aims of the University’s international strategy; the growing popularity of individual mobility, particularly among the student body, has been a great success of this project.
