Huerteco is an association founded in 2014 in Burgos by a group of young people with a strong motivation to achieve two main objectives of equal importance. The first one was to spread agroecology education throughout courses and seminars addressed to different groups: in schools, in organizations and even in farms (factories). The second objective was the autonomous production of vegetables and eggs following ecological techniques. This turned out in the cultivation of an ecological garden and the management of a Castilian black hen enclosure originary of the region.
Huerteco believes in the importance of a sustainable lifestyle, trying to provide this vision day by day through the implementation of its activities.
The activities are carried out for schools, the association's volunteers, workers and people that get engaged.
Huerteco has a large number of volunteers and this means that the activities organized have an even greater positive impact on society. For Huerteco it's crucial to involve the volunteers in its projects because it's a way to involve the community in their own mission.
