Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

Zeytinburnu Municipality established as separate public entity in 1957 and it subjects to 5393 law no municipality law. Administration of the municipality composes mayor, municipal council and municipal board as three bodies. Mayor has power to control executive and 14 units in the municipality are under control of him. Five deputy mayors assist mayor for administration tasks. Mayor is responsible to municipal council. Duties and responsibilities of the institution regulated in the 13 article of mentioned law. The municipality is responsible to urban infrastructure, city planning, green areas and parks, cemeteries, wedding and supporting sportive activities and education. In addition to this, running guest house for women and children is obligatory to the municipality.
Zeytinburnu Municipality gives great emphasis to its social responsibilities and develops projects to enhance living conditions of disadvantageous groups. For this purpose, the Family, Women Support and the Disabled People Center (AKDEM) was founded under Zeytinburnu Municipality in 2007 to accomplish social duties and responsibilities of the municipality. AKDEM is working to elaborate living standards of women, children, elderly people, drug addicts, young people, disabled people, refugees and migrants. For the maximization of living standards of every individual residing in Zeytinburnu, AKDEM delivers services in life-long learning, psychological consulting, legal consulting, special training for disabled people, health services including physical therapy and rehabilitation and sensory processing disorder, nursling services, patient, elder and handicapped rights, family violence, abusing and drug addiction. AKDEM plays crucial role to integrate refugees and asylum seekers under adaptation to city unit.
Zeytinburnu Local Development and EU Relations Coordination Center (ZEYKOM) is also working coordinately with AKDEM regarding the increase of competence of local administration in EU membership progress and contribution to sustainable local development. ZEYKOM is looking for project calls to satisfy the needs of municipality as well as AKDEM and facilitating adaptation of EU acquis at local level.
