The aim of the Caritas of the Koszalin-Kołobrzeg Diocese is to spread Christian principles, the idea of charitable service and institutional charity and humanitarian activity, carried out by directing and coordinating the entire activity of Caritas, which manifests itself in helping the victims and those in need. Caritas, as an organization covering the range of the Koszalin-Kołobrzeski diocese, affecting problems in various areas in its area of activity, conducts its activities in a very wide range. The activity focuses mainly on social assistance (material, legal, psychological, educational, educational, caring) and charity for people in a difficult life and material situation and people excluded, help for the family, the unemployed, the homeless, the sick, the disabled, victims, lonely, elderly, poor, children and young people from poor families and difficult environments, dependent people, assistance to victims of disasters and natural disasters.
Caritas conducts activities: equalizing the chances of people with disabilities (eg running Occupational Therapy Workshops, Environmental Self-Help Center in Piła), educational and educational activities (community centers for children, common room for the elderly, kindergarten, school dormitory), help for mothers affected by domestic violence (Crisis Center for women and women with children), help for single mothers (Home of Single Mother), palliative care (home and hospital hospice); help for the homeless (eating out), as well as medical equipment rental, organizing colonies for children and young people from poor families, immediate help: material help, buying medicine and meeting other needs, care for dependent persons, legal and psychological assistance for persons injured by crime, material help for talented children, food aid (FEAD), summer camps for children of the Polish diaspora. Addressees of the organization's activities: excluded people, the elderly, the disabled, the homeless, the poor, the sick, the victims of crime, those affected by violence in the family, the homeless, children and adolescents, and people affected by various other social problems. For many years, Caritas has been organizing the following charity events, which are carried out each year. Here are the most important of them: "Schoolbag full of smiles" - the aim is to support children from poor families in the purchase of a school layette. So far, we have managed to care for about 6,000. primary and secondary school students; "Slice of bread" - The aim of the campaign is to sensitize the parishioners to the poor, encourage them to share with those in need and to obtain foodstuffs with long shelf-life and easy to store; "The match will not warm up" - Preparing for the autumn and winter period, which is the most difficult for homeless, lonely and poor people, Caritas organizes fundraising for buying fuel for those in need; "Bag of mercy" - the action consists in handing out empty bags to donors who fill them with food products, which are then passed on to those in need; "Empty Christmas tree" - the action consists in setting up a Christmas tree in the Shopping Center, where ornaments with information about the age, name and material need of a child are hung, collected gifts are given to children from poor families.
Caritas operates statutory activities in the diocese of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg, which includes the following provinces: Pomeranian, Western Pomerania and Greater Poland, however, the assistance is also provided to people outside the diocese, both to residents of other provinces and abroad, ie to Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania.
